Briarhill Primary School (sometimes referred to as a "National School" or N.S.), is located on the Galway to Monivea road (R339 - Regional Road 339).
It is outbound from Galway City, on the left hand side of the road, a little over three miles from the city centre, and just past the Briarhill Shopping Centre.
Briarhill School is one of three Schools in Castlegar.

Below, is the new corner where a local man was good enough to offer land for cars to collect pupils and turn, etc.. Previously, one would have to drop off students on the side of the road. Click on the photo to see it better in a new window.

Blessed with a modern extension onto the original front section; it is a far cry from what former students embraced in terms of comfort and technology anyway.
Briarhill School was originally located at Donnellans Cross, which is now demolished and the property of Tesco. The new school was built circa 1952 - see photo of plaque
